Frequently asked questions.

Few of your curiosities answered..

What happens in a therapy session?

Think of therapy as a safe, judgment-free space where you can unpack your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. Whether you're figuring things out or just need someone to listen, we’re here to walk alongside you — not to tell you what to do.

Do I have to talk about everything right away?

Absolutely not. Healing isn't a race. You share what feels comfortable when it feels right. Sometimes, silence speaks too — and that’s perfectly okay.

How do I know if therapy is working?

Great question! Progress doesn’t always look like big ‘aha’ moments. Sometimes, it’s feeling a little lighter, setting boundaries, or simply noticing your thoughts without judgment. Small shifts can lead to big changes over time.

I’ve never tried therapy before. What if I feel nervous?

Feeling nervous is completely normal! Starting something new can be intimidating. But remember — it’s okay to show up exactly as you are. We’ll create a space where you feel safe to explore, question, and grow at your own pace.

Is everything I share in therapy confidential?

Yes, absolutely. What you share in our sessions stays between us. The only exceptions are if there’s a risk of harm to yourself or others, or if I’m legally required to disclose information but we’ll always talk about it first. It’s important that you feel safe to be open and honest.

How long does therapy usually take?

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. For some, a few sessions help bring clarity; for others, it’s a longer journey of growth and healing. We’ll regularly check in on how you’re feeling about the process, and there’s no pressure to continue beyond what feels helpful for you.

What if I feel like therapy isn’t working for me?

That’s something we can talk about! Therapy is a partnership, and your feedback is important. Sometimes it takes a bit of time, or we may need to adjust our approach. If you feel it’s not the right fit, I’m happy to help you find someone who better meets your needs — your well-being comes first.

What if I cry or get emotional during a session?

That’s completely normal. All parts of you are welcome here. Whether you cry, laugh, sit quietly, or share difficult thoughts, there’s no "right" way to be in therapy. I’m here to support you through all of it.
